Our Women Crush Wednesdays of 2019

Our Women Crush Wednesdays of 2019

On the first Wednesday of every month, the family law office of Phillips & Peters celebrates WCW aka Women Crush Wednesday! These are not sponsored or paid posts – just women business owners we think are crushing it in Hampton Roads that we love to support.

This year we featured five local businesses that we love. As we enter the holiday season each of our business leaders, in their ways, can fulfill all your seasonal needs.

Work Christmas parties and holiday functions are in full swing and we know you want to be looking your best. Our October WCW, Spring Wiley is your go-to hairdresser for an amazing holiday look. As the owner of Shear Dimensions in Chesapeake, Spring, and her team will have you looking as dazzling as Judy Haynes in White Christmas.

It’s almost time to spread Christmas cheer with corporate gifts. If you’re looking for something that will wow your clients and professional connections then it’s time to go back to our first WCW of the year. Jen Anglin of Pownd Cakes creates non-traditional versions of a homemade pound cake. She offers 3 different cake sizes and over 20 different flavors.

Don’t forget to bring the sweetness of the season home to the family. For that, we recommend our most recent WCW, Kimberly Deane of The Rustic Tart. She serves up delectable tarts daily on Granby street and gave us wonderful pies to take home for Thanksgiving. This December she’s back at it again with the Christmas Pie! Get ready for a gingerbread chess pie baked in a gingerbread molasses cookie crust.

When you’re searching for a unique gift that celebrates the local culture we recommend looking to our September WCW for guidance. Toni Guagenti is the author of 100 Things To Do In Virginia Beach Before You DieHer book on some of VB’s best local attractions is a great gift for locals and tourists alike. Use it as a launching point for your local adventures and revisit the fun that is to be found all around Virginia Beach.

At the end of this month, we will be entering a new decade. Make 2020 the year you turned your dream of owning a business into a reality. For that, we would enlist the help of our August WCW Melissa Howell. As the founder of Howell Law Group, she serves the local community’s small to midsized businesses when it comes to employment law. Though you might start as a one-woman operation we know you’ll be growing just like Phillips & Peters has over the past decade.

With 2020 on the horizon we are so excited for the next year of WCWs we want to share. What local women-owned business do you love? Let us know through social media so we can check them out for ourselves!
